When Buying a Home Do You Want a Bigger Yard or a Home with a Pool

When buying a home in New Port Richey or Trinity Florida one of the biggest choices to make in your new home is whether or not you prefer a larger back yard or a pool.   Often times, pool homes have a smaller back yard space with less room for children to play and less room for family pets to run and play as well.  You may get more use out of having a pool in the long run.

When looking at a Pool Home consider this:

• The cost of maintaining the pool. On average in Florida pools run all year long with a reduction in filter operating time in the winter.  Check with the local power company to find out the homes average electric bill so you have a good idea as to the expense.  Smaller pools don't need to run as long as a larger pool so keep that in mind.

• The cost of the pool chemicals or salt. Pool chemicals like chlorine and stabilizing tablets can cost about $400 a year.  I would advise you to buy the largest container of tablets as it is the most cost effective.

• Consider your childs age. We would love to think that our children will stay 4 years old forever but that is not the case.  What will you do with that big yard and swing set when your child is older?  Having a pool, your children will have outdoor family fun for years after they outgrow the swingset.

• Re-Sale. I know we all plan to live in our homes forever because moving is the pitts. However, in Florida a pool home will be much more desired to home buyers when you are ready to sell so keep that in mind also.

Memorial Day Weekend?  Stop by "Rock the Park" at the Sim's Park Amphitheater in Downtown New Port Richey. This is a FREE Concert Event in New Port Richey benefiting The Center for Independence.

The Center for Independence is a non profit organization that has been serving individuals with developmental disabilities for over 50 years.  Recent budget cuts has left the organization in need of funding assistance. "Rock the Park" is a two day event on May 23rd from 6pm to 11pm and May 24th from 2pm to 11pm located in Sims Park in New Port Richey.  Rock the Park also hosts a Gourmet Food Truck Rally with Tampa Bay award winning Food Trucks, a silent auction with gift baskets donated from various companies across the country as well as Face Painting, Food, Beer and More.

Rock the Park will feature 6 Bands who are donating their

time to help support The Center for Independence.  If you are looking for something to do in New Port Richey Florida this Memorial Day weekend, Come on Down to Rock the Park and bring the entire family.
