Florida State Fair 2014 - February 6th through February 17th

The Florida State Fair is one of the biggest events of the year
and has been even since 1904. In 1904, T.J. Laud Brown who managed the Tampa Bay Hotel and was the catalyst for bringing the south Florida fair up to the Tampa Bay area and it was held on the land next to the Tampa Bay Hotel.  In 1975, Florida State Legislature created the Florida State Fair Authority and designated the "Tampa Event" as the official Florida State Fair.

When you come to the Florida State Fair this year don't expect to receive tickets for the rides.  The Florida State Fair Authority has moved into the digital age and ticket holders will now be given a card that is pre-loaded and swiped every time the user rides a ride.

The Tampa Bay Hotel may not sound familiar to you and that is
because it is now known as the University of Tampa and Henry B. Plant museum.  Since 1933 the Tampa bay Hotel has been known as the University of Florida.  The building has been renamed "Plant Hall" and is a national historic landmark.

Coming to the Florida State Fair is more than fun for the family. It is a way to take part in Florida history and have fun doing it.  You can get ticket information for the Florida State Fair here. You and your family can enjoy rides and attractions as well as enjoy great food and good family carnival fun.

See You At The Fair!
